JP founded New Town Technologies to create joy and human connection through better sound. Frustrated by laggy, low-fi home karaoke, he and his team built Seratone - a zero-latency, hi-fi interface that pairs with Apple TV 4K to make living-room singing feel like a real performance.
Born in Ontario, JP has spent the last 13 years in Fukuoka, Japan. His career spans live sound engineering, Margaret Atwood's LongPen R&D team, a Tokyo Stock Exchange IPO, and 15 years in startups (mostly backend engineering). New Town is part of ventureLAB's HCI and Investment Readiness programs.

Matt co-founded New Town Technologies to bring studio-grade clarity and feel back to the living room.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Matt moved to Toronto for audio engineering school. Since 2010, he built his career at Bartmart Audio across film and television, becoming the go-to specialist for cleaning up distorted dialogue, noisy locations, and "how do we save this?" recordings.
He expanded from post to composition (TV shows, advertisements), worked up to Head Mixer, then became owner when the previous owner retired. In October 2024, JP called with a new idea - Matt jumped at the chance to build tools that make great sound effortless for everyone.
